Please find below the spiritual condition of the Church as received over a period of time.
Without doubt, this should have gone quietly to Church leaders but the relevant leaders do not appreciate such admonition.
It is not too late to return to God and correct the errors responsible for the current distress. God has been warning for years but Christians were not listening.

NIGERIAN CHURCH ON REBELLION COURSE
Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins. Isaiah 58: 1
This treatise is written to vindicate the Almighty God that if any further evil or calamity should befall Nigeria Church or Nigeria Christians, God did not purpose it. In 2013, God warned that the Nigerian Church was an “irresponsible Church.” Between 2013 and 2019, the situation degenerated. Watchman Nee wrote that the highest principle in the universe is the vindication of God. Even when God permits judgment and destruction, the Most High will raise men to vindicate Him that He acted in righteousness. Joshua vindicated God in Joshua 45: 21; in 2 Chronicles 36:14–20, the Chronicler vindicated God concerning the Babylonian captivity, and in Dan. 9:5–8, Daniel vindicated God.
I pray that no further evil or affliction shall come upon Nigeria’s Christians. However, should situation tilt in that direction, as there are signals that devourers from barren wastelands are about to be unleashed upon the land, no one should face God and ask the Most High “Why?” The article below seeks to explain “why.”

Excerpts from that prophetic message received by Sister Toun in 2009 are as follows:
“Hardly had I spoken a few words in supplication to God for my personal needs that fateful morning of 2ndFebruary, 2009, when I began to experience a feeling that was contrary to my expectation. Suddenly, I was withdrawn into the realm of the spirit where I found myself before the throne of God.
My spirit was quick to sense the fury that was about to be poured on the Church from the Almighty. The indignation I sensed was so great that thoughts of what could warrant such raced within me.
Looking around, I saw the Church clothed with the banner of betrayal and on her body were all sorts of ornaments and decorations to please the world she is supposed to evangelize.
I saw members of the Body of Christ in their large numbers with the leaders of the Church struggling among themselves for garments that could match the world. I sensed a feeling of insecurity in the leaders who were desperately looking for ways to blend with the world. I later noticed that the Church has drifted far from her main track, coming up with vain programs to please the world …
… From what I saw in the Presence of the Ancient of Days, if the Church and leaders do not repent and retrace their steps from their dangerous bend, there will be strange happenings within the Christian fold and among leaders of the Church …” 2nd February, 2009
That was in 2009, the year Boko Haram escalated its attacks. That Islamic terrorist group had been formed in 2008. Could there be a connection between the fury of God and the advent of Islamic terrorism in Nigeria?
On the opposite page of this prophecy in the KARIS Christian Magazine, we also carried a prophecy, that God had declared a seven-year season of judgment for Nigeria from 2011 - 2018. I wrote extensively on that in the article “Christianity in Nigeria: What is Going on and Why?”
Today, Nigeria’s Christians are in the vanguard of shrill protests against corruption and lawlessness in the country. This is not only absurd but sounds hypocritical. They seem not to be aware that the Church itself is operating without regard to the laws of God. How could a Church that is running on the principle of rebellion be complaining that the world is not obeying Rule of Law? From where will the world learn obedience if the Church itself is disobedient?
THE SPIRIT OF NEBUCHADNEZZAR
In the morning of 30th June, 2016, I knelt to pray for Nigeria. It was one of those rare occasions when God decides to speak. Suddenly, I “heard” the voice of God, strongly in my spirit but gently chiding me thus, “Why are you doing this? Why are you trying to stop Me from doing what I have to do? You know more than other people why I have to do this!”
To be honest, I was shocked and flustered. God did not want me to pray for His intervention for Nigeria! He had made up His mind He was going to punish this country, due to the sins of the Church. Immediately, I began to plead for mercy, that God should forgive me. I remember saying, “Lord, whatever You want to do, let Your will be done.” I went throughout the day disturbed by the encounter I had had in the place of prayer that morning.
The same night of 30th June breaking into 1st July 2016, I had a revelation which seemed more real than a dream. In the realm that I was in, I was in a large empty hall, without chairs or any furniture except a bright red rug. The wall was painted white. An audio Bible was playing loudly in the background. In front of me, on the podium, stood a man dressed in white, like a traditional ruler. I concluded thus because I addressed him as “Kabiyesi” (which it the traditional reverential Yoruba greeting for a ruler). I found myself saying to him in that realm, “Kabiyesi, listen to the Word. It is Jeremiah 27. That is what God is saying now. The Word is Jeremiah 27”. The revelation ended.
My heart was pounding as I got out of bed. “Jeremiah 27”? We are in serious trouble. I staggered to the sitting room and opened the Bible to read Jeremiah 27. Let me be honest, even though I assured God that I would not stop Him from doing whatever He wanted to do, I still found myself, once in a while, pleading for mercy for Nigeria.
During the 2016 National Prophetic Conference which holds annually in Ibadan, Nigeria, in November, I shared this experience, confidently warning that, based on what God showed me, Buhari was not going to die. I remember telling the brethren in November 2016, “You will hear that he is dead, in fact, the wind will buffet him, but he will not die.” As at that time, some people were entertaining the false hope that God would remove him the way He had removed Yar’adua. I told them, “This one is not going to die” because from Jeremiah 27, it is clear that God had released the spirit of Nebuchadnezzar into Nigeria to punish the land. I told that audience that when Nebuchadnezzar was released upon the Israelites in the Old Testament, two things occurred:
▪The temple was destroyed
▪The people went into captivity
However, I assured them that we could get rid of the spirit of Nebuchadnezzar within 24 hours if Nigerian Christians would repent. That was when the word came to me:
“Nigerian Christians are praying and fasting but they are not repenting.”
That led us to start the Prayer for National Repentance under the auspices of National Christian Elders Forum (NCEF) in April/May 2018. It is sad to note that while some individual Christians are repenting, crying with tears before God, some of the key Church leaders still appear unconcerned.
Readers would recall that in 2017, President Buhari was seriously ill and on two separate occasions was hospitalized in Britain. When I attended the National Prophetic Conference in November 2017, a year later, I reminded the brethren what I had told them in 2016, that Buhari was not going to die. In fact, I was shocked myself because I had said in 2016 the “wind will buffet him.” I recalled the video clip of him disembarking from the helicopter after his treatment and the wind from the propellers nearly blew him off his feet. He was “buffeted by the wind,” but he did not die.
When the controversy about his clone started circulating, I also queried the revelation I had received about the spirit of Nebuchadnezzar. Then it dawned on me, it was the “spirit” of Nebuchadnezzar not the “person” of Nebuchadnezzar. So long as “Buhari” is in power, real or cloned, the spirit of Nebuchadnezzar will operate in the land. You too, please look at him. Which character does the man represent in the Bible? He does whatever he wants; he is law to himself.
Unfortunately, till today, even as a man, I can confirm that Nigerian Church has not repented. Individual Christians are praying and repenting, but the leadership is yet to change its ways. From the Scriptures, it is clear that God deals with His people through their leaders. While some individual Christians are broken and contrite, the leadership is yet to come to terms with the need for repentance and change of attitude that will produce “fruit meet for repentance.”
The message received by Sister Toun in 2009 accurately defines the Church. Rather than repent, the Church leaders raised “attack dogs” on social media to combat, dissimulate, and intimidate anyone who dared to oppose them. It is so unfortunate that some of these “attack dogs” are well educated people. Amongst them are university professors, lawyers, reverends, and of course, some church officials. There is even a group based in Benin made of intellectuals who are completely opposed to the truth. For the sake of decency, I will not mention the names of the “attack dogs” but I can testify, since I encountered them on many WhatsApp platforms, that these are men and women who have placed their spiritual leaders above the holiness and righteousness of God. In doing this, they provoked the spirit of jealousy.
IS 3RD TERM FOR BUHARI REAL?
I think so, even though I pray it would not come to pass. Please permit me to explain my perspective.
When I read Jeremiah 27, which is the Word of God for the Nigerian Church in its backslidden state, verse 7 gave me concern because I could not interpret it. It states, “And all nations shall serve him, and his son, and his son's son, until the very time of his land come: and then many nations and great kings shall serve themselves of him.”
At first I thought there would be two other rulers in the mold of President Buhari. That seemed plausible until his supporters started flying the kite of a 3rd term for him in office. Suddenly, Jeremiah 27: 7 became clear.
▪All nations shall serve him - 1st term
▪And his son – 2nd term
▪And his son’s son – 3rd term
Nigeria is currently in the era of “his son”. This is the second generation of Buhari’s rule.
I believe that the only thing that can stop him is the genuine repentance of the Church. So long as the Nigerian Church continues in its backslidden and mammon-propelled condition, President Buhari will stay for a long time, whether real or cloned.
And how did President Buhari come into office for the first term in 2015? Pastors and Church leaders brought him. The Church brought President Buhari into office. How did he gain re-election in 2019? Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) deliberately frustrated every attempt of Christians to stop the re-election of Buhari, and CAN ensured that Christians were not coordinated to resist him. Even though the election was heavily marred by rigging and electoral irregularities, CAN officials rushed to congratulate him and used the spiritual authority of the Body of Christ over the land to legitimize his illegal re-election.
Fortunately, the photograph of those who went to congratulate him in 2019 was circulated in the media while the letter written by a Church leader in 2014 to promote him is in circulation. (I will not say much about this letter so that it does not seem as if I was defending myself.) It is not possible for those that played those anti-Christ roles to deny complicity, neither can I be accused of slander. There is incontrovertible evidence that it was Church leaders who brought President Buhari in 2015 and 2019. In such a situation, what does anyone expect God to do? President Buhari is the candidate of the Church.
The only ground upon which God will intervene is if Nigerian Christians execute judgment to prove to God that they were not complicit in the betrayal of Christ. However, so long as the Christians continue to protect and defend their spiritual leaders, they will swim or sink together.
The reader may now understand why, at the beginning of this treatise, I stated that I was writing to vindicate God that if any further evil should befall the Nigerian Church, God was not to be blamed. It is the Church leaders whose politics is anti-Christ that should answer. They and their minions conspired to sell Christianity in Nigeria to the Islamists. They did it deliberately for personal selfish interests.
For many years, the Nigerian Church leaders have been playing games with God thinking they are wise. God allowed them to dig a pit and fall inside it. When they conspired to bring Buhari in 2015, they thought that they were smart. The first four years of the man did not teach them any caution. They still thought they could maneuver and they brought him back in 2019. Now, Buhari does not need them to come back in 2023. Only God can stop him.
THE MYSTERY OF INIQUITY DOTH ALREADY WORK
At this juncture; I cannot avoid mentioning the current President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), who is also the President of the Baptist Convention. He was elected in 2016 as the President of that umbrella organization of the Church in Nigeria. The National Christian Elders Forum (NCEF) has written extensively on the corruption and compromise of this Church leader. It is to the shame of the Nigerian Church that some of its prime leaders insist on retaining him as the President of CAN to the extent of rigging elections for him to be “re-elected” in 2019.
While the tenure of this man has been a liability for Christianity in Nigeria, it is those Church leaders who decided to retain him in office after the fraud in Cotonou in 2017 was discovered, that should be held most culpable. Following the written and signed admission of the Assistant General Secretary of CAN, Barrister Daramola, that the President of CAN was one of four officials that defrauded CAN to the tune of N45 million in the purchase of vehicles from Cotonou, it was an act of unrighteousness to have retained him in office as the face of Christianity in Nigeria. He should have been asked to honorably resign in July 2017 during the meeting of NEC.
Rather than repent and keep a low profile, to worsen the issue, after the fraud was exposed, the man deliberately conducted a fraudulent audit of CAN accounts to cover up the fraud. He violated Article 19 of the CAN Constitution to appoint an auditor without NEC approval, and used CAN funds to pay the auditor N350,000 to “cook” the books for him. In the fraudulent audit report, the N45 million spent in Cotonou was not reflected, yet the account was balanced. Where did N45 million disappear to? During its October 2017 meeting, NEC promptly rejected the fraudulent audit report and left it at that. That was another great error. That was another opportunity to have removed him. Unfortunately, the glorious Church of Christ in Nigeria has been taken over by the harlot Church. This is the Church which prostitutes its anointing and calling in exchange for filthy lucre and friendship with the world; the Church that delights in sharing Security Vote with Treasury looters. The harlot Church does not uphold the righteousness of God.
Truth has become alien to the Church. The Church leaders retained him and started castigating everyone who opposed what they had done. The former Vice President of CAN, Professor Joseph Otubu, who stood his ground in righteousness that such corruption should not be tolerated in the Church, was ostracized and condemned by those Church leaders. Consequently, he stayed away from CAN for the rest of his tenure even though he was elected on personal merit as the Vice President of the Christian Association.
The National Christian Elders Forum (NCEF), knowing full well the spiritual consequence of such criminal indulgence on the Church, insisted on righteous justice. Till the time of this writing, Nigerian Church leaders have opposed the NCEF. In fact, their “attack dogs” said many uncharitable things about the Christian Elders for insisting that a corrupt man should not represent Christianity in Nigeria. This is the same harlot Church that is expecting divine intervention from the invasion of the Islamists. Ironical.
Additional appeal to the Church leaders came from Advocates for Freedom and Democracy (AFD), a coalition of over 63 Nigerian Christian groups and fellowships. On three occasions, AFD wrote to Church leaders expressing concern about the state of the Church and counseling that Godly remedial measures be taken. In its 3rd letter, AFD requested the Church leaders to convene a Christian Conference so that the issues could be discussed and resolved. The Church leaders ignored all three letters even though they received all. These letters went to CAN National, Zonal and State Officials, including the Heads of the five Blocs. The only response came from the CAN National Director for Planning and National Issues who arrogantly wrote to all the other CAN Officials that they should ignore the 28th May, 2019 letter from AFD. That was the same man who issued a Press Release in a national newspaper in 2018 entitled “Can has no Supervisor,” implying, “no one can demand accountability from CAN.” The Nigerian clergy is neither accountable to God whom it serves, nor man whom it claims to represent.
The 63 Christian groups and fellowships of the AFD wrote letters on these dates:
28th May, 2019
16th July, 2019
21st October, 2019
All the letters were ignored for by the Church leaders or their representatives.
Christian Social Movement of Nigeria (CSMN) also wrote on 15th July, 2019, to the National Assembly of CAN, expressing concern about the Association’s elections, cautioning that the “re-election” of the incumbent would be in violation of the following Articles in the Constitution of CAN:
Article 14a
Article 14b (iii)
Article 19
Article 22
CSMN also pointed out that there were allegations of vote buying that should be investigated. The Church leaders ignored the letter and went ahead to confirm the “re-election” of the incumbent. To confirm that the letter was received, the National Director of National Issues sent a scathing denouncement to CSMN. The message was clear, no one had the right to caution Nigerian clergy.
“The Mystery of Iniquity doth already work.”
The worry is not merely the corruptions that have been exposed; the greater fear is that anyone capable of committing such blatant transgressions yet insistent on covering them up by every means irrespective of the cost to the interest of the Church and the Kingdom of God, is capable of worse that have not yet been discovered or not yet committed – to the further detriment of the interest of the Church in the land.
The errors that had been perpetuated in CAN were swept under the carpet by the clergy who pretended as if there was no corruption in the Church. If the same had occurred in the United States, all those involved would have been in jail, Reverend or no Reverend. If it had been in China, they would have been shot dead. If it had been in North Korea, they with their wives would have been shot in the open with AK 47.
Those are countries that Nigerian Christians describe as “ungodly,” yet they know more about righteousness than Nigerian Christians. It should therefore not surprise anyone that Nigeria is “fantastically corrupt” and unbelievably lawless. The Church, which is supposed to be the conscience of the nation, has lost its conscience.
The Church that condones and accommodates corruption is complaining about corruption in the country. The Church that rigs election is complaining about election rigging in the land. The Church that violates its Constitution to appoint illegitimate officials is complaining that the Constitution of the country is violated. The Church that refuses to listen to admonition of its Elders is complaining that the Government is undermining the Judiciary. When will the Nigerian Church stop its hypocrisy?
There is no way the Fulanis could have become this powerful in Nigeria if Christians had not gone astray from God. From the little revelations and divine encounters that I have received, God’s hand of deliverance has been shortened by the sins of His people. Is. 59:1-2.
Now, Christians are complaining and they are in anguish about terrors in the land. Yet, none is asking, “What have we done wrong?”
As painful as this may sound, the fact of the matter is that Nigerian Christians have no legal ground before God to complain that President Buhari is lawless and self-willed, inasmuch as Church leaders are running the Church with the same spirit of rebellion and lawlessness against God and against His holiness. I am not by this justifying President Buhari for the various acts of lawlessness that have taken place under his watch. The point I making is that President Buhari has been permitted by God just as God permitted the Assyrians to deal with Israel (in Isaiah 10:5-6).
THE MYSTERY OF THE GATE KEEPER
On 20th April, 2018, God showed me another revelation that was shocking. In that revelation, He revealed to me two things:
1. Rev. Dr. Musa Asake, the former General Secretary of CAN, was going to die.
2. After the death of Dr. Asake, Islamists will defeat the Church and take over the country.
The signal from heaven that Islamists will take over is that Dr. Asake would be taken home.
On 11th May, 2018 Dr. Asake died. One portion of the revelation came to pass.
The Lord took Dr. Asake home on a very significant date. I will explain.
NCEF had been working since its inception in 2015 on building Christian political consensus to strengthen democracy in Nigeria against the onslaught of Sharia ideology which was championed by President Buhari. After series of engagements with crucial stakeholders in the country, NCEF proposed a meeting with Christian leaders to map out strategies for the 2019 elections. The meeting was scheduled for 10th May, 2018. Rev. Ayokunle was approached as CAN President for approval, which he granted. A few days later, he turned around and denied that he ever gave approval, and openly lies to justify his action – President of CAN?! (Details are in the NCEF Report entitled “Factors Hindering Christian Political Consensus For 2019 Elections”

Due to the duplicity of Rev. Ayokunle the President of CAN, many Christian leaders did not attend the meeting. If that meeting had held as planned, Christians would have formed a common ground on the political direction to adopt for 2019, and would have been able to build the “third force” to contest against both PDP and APC and hopefully prevent the electoral heist of APC. Unfortunately, Christian political unity was destroyed by the President of CAN. One wonders why, and in whose unknown interest!
That same night of 10th May, breaking into 11th May, 2018, God took Dr. Asake home in confirmation of the revelation He had shown me on 20th April. The divine signal which God gave me that the Islamists would take over the country and overrun the Church was the death of Rev. Dr. Asake. May his soul rest in peace.
Nigerian Christians should remember that there is a 20-year cycle of political re-configuration for Nigeria. This cycle became noticeable from 1939 and has been consistent since then.
1939 – The South was divided into East and West
1959 – The Constitutional Conference leading to Independence in 1960
1979 – The 1979 Constitution and return to civil rule
1999 – The 1999 Constitution and another return to civil rule
2019 - The next cycle for political re-configuration
The 2019 election was crucial to the survival of Nigeria and the balancing of political power. The 2019 cycle was frustrated by the harlot Church. Even though sufficient arrangements and preparations had been made by NCEF in collaboration with four geo-political Zones to ensure that political balance was restored to Nigeria after four years of fascism under Buhari, some Church leaders received “Pastor Moni” and betrayed not only the Church, but the entire country.
On 22nd May 2018, I had another visitation from God. I was still in bed when I heard God say, “So, how prepared are you for the 2019 elections?” The question threw me off balance. I struggled to put my thoughts together. As I was wondering how to reply, God spoke again, “You are not prepared. You cannot be prepared. The Gate Keeper has locked the gate.” The “Gate Keeper”?
It was at that moment I realized that the Office of the President of CAN is recognized by God as the Gate Keeper over the nation. Up until then, I did not realize that God had endowed such spiritual responsibility on the office of the President of CAN. The next thing that alarmed me was that the meeting that the CAN President had frustrated on 10th May 2018, had serious spiritual repercussions over the country. No wonder God took Dr. Asake the same night.
After that encounter, God started sending confirmations that it was indeed He Who had spoken to me. On 25th May, while at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, for a Christian Conference, I received an SMS from a Brother Joshua, which reads as follows:
“God showed me, first on Tuesday 22nd of this month (May 2018) that Buhari won the election again. Then He repeated the vision on Wednesday 23rd & made it more emphatic & detailed; the Famine became X3 severe, Nigerians were almost eating from the dustbin, and the killings, O…!”
I should mention that the last time I heard from Bro. Joshua was in August 2017. On the same 22nd May, 2018 that God was telling me about the Gate Keeper, God was showing him also that Buhari would return in 2019. That was the first confirmation that it was God Who had spoken to me that the Church would not succeed in preparing for 2019 election.
On Sunday, when I shared that message in Church so that the brethren would pray, a couple informed us that while they were praying during the week, the wife had had a short trance of a very old man who said his name was “Mimo” (the Yoruba word for “holy”). In the trance, the old man was very angry that he arrived on 22nd May but was locked in. The old man said he would deal with those who locked the door. That was the second confirmation.
The couple did not understand the revelation until I started sharing what I had received on 22nd May. So, after telling me about the Gate Keeper on 22nd May 2018, God gave me two confirmations that He had actually spoken to me that early morning. Now, looking back, everything God said has come to pass. The Church was not prepared because the President of CAN, as the Gate Keeper, gave instructions that Church leaders should not attend the meeting and that the National Christian Center should be locked to prevent Christian political consensus meeting. Buhari was re-elected for a second term. The Church brought him back.
There is a portion in the Mathematics Law of Sequence, that if an action repeats itself with accurate frequency, the next occurrence can be predicted. At no time in the history of Nigeria did the country require the 20-year cycle of political re-configuration like 2019. Even God was ready to re-configure the country. The spiritual opening to deliver the land was traded off by the harlot Church in exchange for money the way Esau traded his birthright for a mess of pottage. Now, Christians are weeping bitterly like Esau, but the deed is done.
HARLOT, YOUR LINEN IS DIRTY
Whenever the faults and shortcomings of the present Church leaders were pointed out, rather than repent and forsake sin, they would retort, “You are washing the dirty linen of the Church in public.” “Dirty linen?” From where? Concerning the saints of God, it is written – “And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.” Rev. 19: 8
Nigerian Church, from where did you get “dirty linen”? Did Christ give you dirty linen? Is not the glorious Church of Christ supposed to be without spot, without blemish and without wrinkle? From where did the Nigerian Church get its “dirty linen”?
By your own admission, you have soiled the linen of righteousness which Christ gave you, and you clothe yourself with the filthy garment of sin and betrayal. No wonder Sister Toun saw the Church in 2009 clothed with a “banner of betrayal.”
To worsen matters, the “temple prostitutes” are so comfortable with the filth of their trade that they don’t want anyone to wash it. Like swine, they have returned to the mud and they are comfortable to wallow in it. They complain that their dirty linen is washed in the open. Pray, where do you wash dirty linen? Inside the bedroom?
“Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil” Isaiah 1: 16.
The Nigeria Church must return to its Glorious state. The harlot Church, which consorts with looters of the Treasury, must give way to the glorious Church that transforms sinners into the image of Christ. All the spiritual prostitutes defiling the sanctuary must either repent or look for other professions outside the sanctuary.
A CHURCH OF TWO OPINIONS
“And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him…” 1 Kings 18: 21.
In Matt. 6:24, the Lord made it clear that a servant cannot serve two masters; ye cannot serve God and Mammon. Nigerian Christians have to decide if they will worship God or Mammon. Currently, there is a very thin line between the two. The worship of Mammon has led to many evils in the Church; evils that have polluted the land.
It is time to discard all the doctrines and programs of covetousness and return to discipleship teachings. The purpose of the five-fold office in the Church, as declared in Eph. 4: 13, is to raise Christians that will attain to “the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ.” God did not call anyone into any of the five-fold offices to dispense blessings or prosperity. He called men into His ministry to transform converts into the image of Christ. If all that your ministry is preaching is prosperity, you are part of the harlot Church.
If you have collected money from the Islamist Government or joined the looters of the Treasury to share stolen money, you are a temple prostitute. Retrace your steps and return to the Cross. The message is the Cross. Those who do not like it will leave the Church, but you will have saved your soul. Christ never said that a large crowd was the sign of the successful ministry. Stop compromising the truth in order to draw a crowd. Save your soul.
CONCLUSION
1. Like I concluded in an earlier treatise, God is faithful. After chastising the Nigerian Church, He will yet show mercy. Even looking at Jeremiah 27:7, there is hope in the midst of judgment. President Buhari will run his course and then his time will come, after which his people will pay terribly for the evil they have unleashed upon this land. Even though Islam is being used to afflict Christians, God will not hand over Nigeria in the long run to Islam. The purpose of this treatise is to alert Christians to put their house in order and to shorten the period of affliction.
2. In compliance with 1 Cor. 11:31 and 1 Cor. 5:12–13, the leadership of CAN should be reconstituted, immediately. This group led the NEC that failed in oversight functions. If NEC under them had diligently fulfilled its responsibility, the country would not be in this mess. Besides, they cannot claim innocence of filthy lucre. Men of proven integrity, capability, and honesty should henceforth be appointed to represent the Church.
3. The Constitution of CAN should be amended to ensure that the President of CAN is no longer the Chairman of NEC. The debacle of Rev. Ayokunle would have been avoided if another person was the Chairman of NEC. He used his dual position as the Chairman of NEC and President of CAN to stifle any attempt to call him to order. The position of the Chairman of NEC could be made to revolve annually amongst the Heads of the Blocs. The Head of the Bloc that produces the President should be skipped from that chairmanship.
4. The Baptist Convention should be sanctioned because it cannot claim it does not know the weaknesses of its President. Rev Ayokunle did not develop those negative character traits in CAN. His denomination knew him, yet it released him for a position for which he evidently lacked spirituality, capacity, and temperament to handle. The contentions that defined his tenure are indications of incapability.
5. It should become a statute in CAN that no official of the Church is permitted under any guise to receive honorarium, gift or any financial appreciation from any Government official or politician. CAN must be funded solely by the Church. Henceforth, any CAN official that receives money outside of the Church allocation must immediately vacate his position.
6. Arrangements should be made to incorporate Laity Leaders into the leadership structure of CAN so that Christian professionals can contribute their expertise to Church administration. This season demands of the Church to put its first eleven on the playing field.
7. The moment a new President of CAN is appointed, he should lead the Nigerian Church in prayers and fasting of repentance and rededication to God. God is waiting for a righteous Gate Keeper to stand in His presence on behalf of the Church and the country.
Nigerian Christians, change your course. The issue God has with the Church is based on righteousness. The Most High wants righteousness in Churches, homes, and in the country. There are two options for the Christians to learn righteousness. You either learn righteousness through obedience, (Isaiah 1: 19) or, you will learn righteousness through judgment. (Isaiah 26: 9). Choose wisely.
