THE SPIRITUAL CONDITION OF NIGERIAN CHURCH
Please permit me to share with you some information that God gave me over a period of time. I am not a prophet neither do I claim any prophetic calling. However, once in a while, God shows me some things which over time, I have learnt to note. As a matter of fact, I have a notebook where I record revelations and visions of God. (Also included in this article are revelations given to some other brethren also.)
For example, on 22nd February, 2014, a year before NCEF was inaugurated, God showed me the National Christian Elders Forum. In a dream, I saw myself facing a group of Elders sitting in a straight row. They were dressed in very rich, gleaming blue brocade. The rich blue brocade fascinated me because I know that in the language of the Holy Spirit blue is the color of heavenly obedience. In that revelation, I needed to write something and one of the Elders gave me a pen. After writing I wanted to return the pen but he smiled and gestured, “Keep it”. He was smiling very warmly and broadly in a manner that suggested that he knew something but he was not telling me. NCEF started a year later on 15th January, 2015.
When I considered the revelation after waking up, I knew the Elders I saw were representing God and walking in heavenly obedience, but I did not know who they were and what they were sent to do. It was much later that I started understanding the revelation.
DISTURBING REVELATIONS FROM HEAVEN
On 30th June, 2016 and 1st July, 2016, I had two visitations from God in which He told me that the Word for Nigeria was Jeremiah 27. Going through Jeremiah 27 and with additional insights from God, I understood that God has released the spirit of Nebuchadnezzar into Nigeria. (I found verse 7 very worrisome.) When Nebuchadnezzar was released into the land of Judah in the Old Testament, two things occurred:
- The people went into captivity
- The temple was destroyed
God made me understand that President Buhari carries the spirit of Nebuchadnezzar. In November 2016, I had the privilege of participating in the National Prophetic Conference held in Ibadan and I informed the brethren that based on what God has shown me, President Buhari would not die like President Yar’adua. I further stated that he is the whip of God to flog the Nigerian Church.
In 2017, the health crisis of President Buhari escalated and on two occasions, some people were very sure that he had died. On both occasions, he disappointed them. As of November 2018, rumors were rife that a “body double” was acting as President Buhari. The allegation is yet to be fully confirmed or refuted. If indeed it is true that President Buhari died in January 2017, it does not affect the revelation. On the contrary, it strengthened it because it is the “spirit of Nebuchadnezzar” that was released and not the “person” of Nebuchadnezzar.
When I returned for the November 2017 edition of the National Prophetic Conference, I reminded the brethren what I had informed them in 2016 that he would not die. They confirmed that it was true. I however made it clear that we can get rid of him within 24 hours if only Nigerian Church would repent. I informed the brethren that Nigerian Christians were praying and fasting, but they were not repenting.
NIGERIA REPENTS
Based on the understanding that God gave me that repentance is the key to solving the problems confronting the Nigerian Church, I discussed with the Chairman the need for NCEF to sponsor the 21 days prayer and fasting for National Repentance which took place from Monday 23rd April – Sunday 13th May, 2018. We were greatly helped by Prof. Kontein and Bro. Atei Aberedugo who mobilized the intercessory groups and fellowships in Nigeria to participate. It wasn’t until we started the prayer and fasting that I realized that Churches were not involved in the program. The closest we had to a “Church” was Gethsemane Prayer Ministry of Rev. Aransiola who participated as an intercessor and not as a pastor. It was more of a Laity driven program.
The three weeks prayer and fasting was divided into three segments of prayer action:
Week One: Prayer for Repentance
Week Two: Prayer to deal with Sorcery and Witchcraft over Nigeria
Week Three: Prayer for Judgment against evil in the Nation
GOD STILL ANGRY
On 20th April, 2018, three days to the beginning of the Nigeria Repents program, God spoke again. On 20th April, God showed me two things:
- Dr. Musa Asake, the General Secretary of CAN, would die
- After his death, the Nigerian Church would scatter and Islamists would take over
On 11th May, 2018, two days to the end of the Nigeria Repents program, Rev. Dr. Musa Asake died. It is noteworthy that after Dr. Asake died, I was the first person the family was able to reach with the information. Considering that I am neither a CAN official nor a notable Church leader, it was a signal from God that what He showed me on 20th April had come to pass. If in a two-part revelation, one part has come to pass, how about the second part?
THE MYSTERY OF THE GATEKEEPER
On 22nd May, 2018, as I woke up in the morning, God asked me a question, “So, how prepared are you for 2019?” I kept quiet turning the question in my mind. He spoke again, and said, “You are not prepared. You cannot be prepared. The Gatekeeper has locked the gate”.
Slowly, I started understanding what God meant by “the Gatekeeper has locked the gate.” It would be recalled that NCEF had planned a meeting with Christian Leaders to plan Christian response for 2019. The meeting was scheduled to have taken place on Thursday 10th May, 2018. Suddenly, in a malevolent reversal of approval, Dr. Ayokunle, the President of CAN, on 6th and 7th May, 2018 denied that he had given approval for the meeting and instructed that the meeting should not take place neither should NCEF be given access to the National Christian Center to have the meeting with Christian Leaders. Looking back, it is clear to me that the meeting that was scuttled was a turning point for Christianity in Nigeria. Had the meeting taken place as conceived, Christian leaders, Clergy and Laity would have formed consensus on the political direction Christians would take for 2019 Elections. By frustrating the meeting, the CAN President immobilized Christianity in Nigeria.
It was a physical action that triggered spiritual decision. As the President of Association of Christians, Heaven recognized the President of CAN as the “gatekeeper” over the Church. The Gatekeeper used his spiritual authority perversely against the Church to lock the Church out. That same night of the meeting, (10th May/11th May) God took Rev. Dr. Musa Asake home. This cannot be a coincidence. I pray that the death of Dr. Asake the same night the meeting was scuttled is not to confirm that there is nothing more the Most High could do for the Nigerian Church.
It is clear that the decision to lock the National Christian Center was the result of satanic manipulation. The gateway might have been anger, pride, or contention. Whoever took that decision was reacting to sorcery, whether he was aware of it or not. The instructions of the President of CAN on 6th and 7th May, 2018 were based on outright falsehood. This confirms that the decision to prevent Church leaders from attending the meeting was not from the Holy Ghost. That the decision could not be reversed by any of the Church leaders show how helpless and spiritually weak the Church is to resist sorcery. The Nigerian Church is compromised and lack spiritual discernment. Many Christian leaders no longer see Christ in His Body. (Please forgive the pun, they only see the cash.)
The threat to lock the National Christian Center triggered indignation in the spirit realm. It should be noted that God did not take Dr. Asake home on the day the perverse decision was taken. He waited until the night of the meeting hopeful that the decision might be reversed. When the decision was not reversed, God took Dr. Asake home that same night to confirm that a spiritual process concerning the Nigerian Church has been set in motion. Even though the meeting still held, attended by 25 people in the entire Nigerian Church, it was clear a great damage had been done as many of the Church leaders stayed away.
On the same 22nd May, 2018, as God was showing me the mystery of the “Gatekeeper”, God was speaking to another brother, Joshua, who sent SMS to me on 25th May, 2018 as follows:
“God showed me, first on Tuesday 22nd of this month (May) that Buhari won the election again. Then He repeated the vision on Wednesday and made it more emphatic and detailed; the famine became three times severe, Nigerians were almost eating from the dustbin, and the killings, O …!”
During the same week, God spoke to Pastor and Pastor Mrs Ansa while praying, that “His name is Mimo (Holy) and He arrived on 22nd May but He was locked in and He was not allowed to come out”. In the revelation, He was very angry and He vowed to deal with all the people who locked the door. (I do not know what is meant by “he was locked in” and was not allowed to come out. But that is what the couple reported.)
During the same week, Bro. Joshua called Bro. Ugo to join him in prayers and God spoke to them concerning the Church that “you underestimate the power of the sorcery in the air against you”. The Nigerian Church has become spiritually weak because it has lost moral authority. Unrighteousness has made the Church susceptible to the influence of sorcery and enchantment. The Islamists use both a lot.
SPIRITUAL MANIPULATIONS
A lot of sorcery was used before and during the 2015 Elections. Some prophecies had come before then that were not corporately addressed. For example, Pastor Ezeh (The Messenger) delivered some Word from the Lord as follows:
(On 8th April, 2013, I received this word from the Messenger, and I sent it to people on my email list)
“… the people on the other camp have pooled resources together to send a company of 300 Imams to Saudi Arabia to raise divination and enchantment against the people of God concerning the 2015 election. Part of what they will do is to use prognostication to discover a candidate that has the best chance to succeed. They will impose him on the Nigerian space through divination and at the same time project strife and divisions in the camp of God's people.”
On 20th September, 2013 this word came through the Messenger:
Rv.22:7: “You ask concerning 2015. What if I opened your eye to see what is going on in the Chambers of hell. … (A political party) … and the mergers are the plans birthed in the 6th Chamber of hell to produce hell’s choice for the leadership of your nation and I will not allow it. My people have no discernment. Those that should seek Me and find out have lost their sight and vision and so they are seeing as mere men. The chambers of hell have recruited enough men, paid enough price through massive blood sacrifice and self denial to hijack the process if there is an election.”
On 13th March, 2015, I received this from the Messenger, “The sixth Chamber of hell is the Boardroom of hell. This is the place where Lucifer, the three other fallen principalities of his rank (Leviathan, Apollyon and Belial), the eight powers (lower angelic spirits - See Eph.6:12) with other chosen demonic spirits meet with men that are higher initiates in the occult to devise strategies for prolonging Satan’s rule on earth and entrenching the current world system. It is in this chamber that strategies are plotted to decide access to political and economic power at the highest level. The decisions as to who becomes the President of strategic nations are taken at this level. Also decisions as to who heads important world organs like U.N.; World Bank, I.M.F; etc are taken in this Chamber.
So when people started chanting CHANGE in 2015 for no apparent reason, what was at work? SORCERY!
PEACE OR CONTENTION
NCEF spent considerable time putting information into the public domain for all Christians to know what is going on after quiet mediation failed to achieve any meaningful result in CAN. The objective of the NCEF is to draw the attention of the Christians to dismal condition of the Church so that they can press for change. Unfortunately, rather than confront the evil in the Body of Christ, most Christians are upset that the evil is exposed. This is absurd. Most Christian leaders are angry that the ills in CAN are exposed rather than take it as a Christian challenge to defend truth and righteousness in the Church. Consequently, Nigerian Church failed to deal with corruption and pollution in its midst but kept praying for divine intervention.
The impression one is left with is that majority of Christians readily see the speck in the eyes of the world but they ignore the beam in their own eyes. (Luke 6: 41-42) If Christians are readily concerned about the interests of the kingdom of God, the moment it was mentioned that corruption and impunity is detected in the apex body of Christianity, there should have been an outcry that righteousness must be enforced on the Church. Unfortunately, the Nigerian Church justifies evil and condemns righteousness.
WHAT IS THE WAY OUT?
I believe that every revelation of God is meant for deliverance. Whenever God speaks, He speaks life. We are grateful that God is speaking to us and revealing to us these mysteries. It is not to make us panic or make us afraid. The revelations are meant for our deliverance, if Nigerian Church takes corrective measures.
With the little understanding God has given me, I wish to suggest, as follows:
- There is hope for the Nigerian Church. However, the Elders whom God showed me in 2014 have to arise quickly and take charge of the situation. Christian Association of Nigeria must be delivered from the hands of morally and spiritually bankrupt leaders. CAN as an institution needs help and the NCEF possess the capacity to render such help. Other Christian Elders in country should support NCEF to ensure that CAN is sanitized and the “gatekeeper” opens the gate for righteousness.
- The present situation in CAN is throwing up a serious issue. Which body has been responsible for managing Christianity in Nigeria in the past 52 years? How has that body managed the Church such that today, Nigeria is the worst nation on earth for anyone to be called a Christian and Nigerian Christians have become endangered species in their own country? The body managing Christianity should be taken to task to explain what happened.
- The Motto of CAN is “that they all may be One”. For the 52 years that the Clergy has been managing CAN, has the Body of Christ been “One”? The answer is no. On the contrary, Christianity was piloted aground. This implies, the structure of CAN should be revisited and the Clergy should no longer be permitted to manage Christianity alone. There must be a NEW CAN. The current structure and management of CAN is easily exploited to the detriment of Christianity in Nigeria. Apart from one or two leaders who demonstrated sacrificial spiritual leadership, most of the leaders in CAN seem to have approached the Association with the mindset of using CAN to make money at the expense of the Body of Christ. The present set of Officials is clearly the most morally challenged.
- It is clear that the attitude of the present set of Clergy supervising CAN is one of arrogance, impunity, carelessness and recklessness. A few days ago, they arrogantly proclaimed in the Press, “CAN HAS NO SUPERVISOR”. This implies CAN is not accountable to anyone. How about the Christians who constitute members of the Association? Are you saying they cannot demand accountability from their officials? Even after running the Church into a ditch through compromise and self seeking, the Clergy still believes it is not accountable to the Christians who constitute the members of the Association. The Clergy proudly proclaims, “no one can dictate to CAN” forgetting they are Church leaders because people attend Churches. If people cease to attend Churches, they would cease to be Church leaders.
- Righteousness must be restored to CAN and a new “Gatekeeper” must be presented to “open” the gate so that the King of Glory can come in. The Lord is in the midst of His people. Once anyone has locked out His people, he has locked out Christ. Let no Christian be in doubt; what is going on in CAN affects you.
- It is not too late to save Christianity in Nigeria. However, if Christians do not succeed in re-organizing CAN, then the warning of God given on Saturday 14th September, 2013 that “if care is not taken, in 30 - 40 years Nigeria will be like Turkey” may come to pass. Then, the Most High shall be blameless in the matter.
Thank you, for your kind consideration.
