Letter from Hell

Letter from Hell

She woke up suddenly, her heart was pounding and sweat was all over her body. She was terrified and unconsciously, she began to shiver. Even the familiar objects in her room looked menacing and frightening in the dark. Slowly, she tried to recollect the dream that woke her with such fright.

It was a letter. She received a letter from hell. Again, she shuddered. Not only did she receive a letter from hell, but in the dream, as she read it, she could perceive the sulphuric smell of hell all around her. The smell was nauseating and sickening.

The most shocking aspect of the dream is that the letter was written by Sheila, her closest friend. She was with Sheila a few days ago and there was nothing wrong with her. But in the dream, Sheila had died and had gone to hell. In the letter, her best friend was accusing her of being a wicked and inconsiderate person. Despite their closeness, she had failed to warn her of judgment after death and the salvation that is available through faith in Jesus Christ. The letter was written in a bitter and angry tone.

She felt a sharp pang of pain cut through her heart as she remembered that she had never raised the issue of salvation of soul with Sheila. As close as they were, they shared almost everything but the issue of personal relationship with Jesus Christ was not once discussed. She felt that religion is a private belief that should not be brought into friendship. To Maureen, each person was free to take a decision on what to believe.

Right then, in the middle of the night, she purposed to call Sheila and talk to her about Jesus Christ and the coming judgment. She got out of bed and called Sheila's phone.

"Hello", it was Sheila's mother.
"Good evening, Mom. It's me. Sorry I am calling so late in the night. Please may I speak with Sheila?"
Silence.
"Hello. Can you hear me, Mom? I would like to speak with Sheila, please."
"You mean that you have not heard?"
"Heard what?"

Trying to stifle a sob, Sheila's mother answered in a sorrowful voice, "Sheila died yesterday". Maureen fainted.
Dear reader, you cannot write a letter from hell accusing anyone for not sharing the message of salvation with you. You can only blame yourself if you reject this message of eternal life freely given to you by Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary.

We invite you right now to repent of your sins and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour.
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Acts 4:12

We want to encourage you to pray this prayer right away:

Almighty God, You are the creator of heaven and earth. You are my creator. I come to You now asking You to forgive me all my sins and save my soul through Jesus Christ. I confess with my mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord. I believe that God raised Him from the dead and He is alive forever. I accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and personal Saviour. Lord Jesus, come into my life, fill me with Your Spirit and enable me to live according to the will of God. Amen.
